*Helpful Hints

If there is any possibility of the fill or bank behind the wall settling, raise the fill side of each ring 1/4-1/2 depending on soils. Corners: For walls with one corner, start building at the center of the corner. Walls with more than one corner may need two ring sizes. 12x5 1/2 Rings are only recommended for certain inclines. See manufacturer for details.

Advantages

* Incredibly simple and fast to install
* The root structure of a planted Incline wall increases the strength of the wall
* Incline walls can be conformed to the shape of an existing bank and the degree of the incline wall can be increased or decreased as building progresses.

Incline Wall Set-up Instructions

1. The size of the trench or gravel base depends on the size of the largest ring used.

2. Compact the soil in the trench bottom and then place, level, and compact gravel in the bottom of the trench.

3. Place the bottom of the first course of rings on the compacted base and level each ring making sure the top of every ring is flush with the one next to it.*

4. Continue to add courses stacking upward until the desired height is reached. Check each course for level as they are added.

5. Check your wall for level. Partially fill the center of the rings with clean well-graded gravel. And then you can fill the remainder with dirt and plant or cap.

6. Do not use fine sand to bed your wall. Use clean gravel. The angle of the wall is adjustable. Each successive course can be placed forward or backward to the point where they won't retain earth. Plant or use your wall.

!!IMPORTANT NOTICE!!

Always consult a proper engineer's report for job-specific material and zoning regulation requirements. For walls exceeding 4", contact an engineer and your local building department for exact regulations and requirements.

It is recommended that hand railings always be used in step applications, and that safety railings be used in all wall applications where people can access the top of the wall.
